After all the controversy surrounding his previous stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, where it was proven to the NBA that their owner, Steve Ballmer, had violated salary regulations by offering Kawhi Leonard additional financial incentives outside of his contract with the team in order to circumvent the salary cap and avoid the luxury tax for the excess, it can be said that the player can now put that case behind him.

The forward, who was fined $700,000 - a trivial amount compared to the 28 million he received from a company owned by Ballmer - signed his return to Toronto once the fine was announced.

In a year, he would have become a free agent, so the Raptors moved quickly to prevent that and offered him - and he accepted - a two-year extension worth a total of 115 million euros, with an option to renew for an additional year, according to his agent, Harrison Ganes, who spoke to ESPN.

With his future settled, Kawhi Leonard will now try to focus on basketball with a franchise where he already won an NBA championship in the 18/19 season, alongside Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, and Sergio Scariolo.
