Although the transfer window has closed, Stellenbosch said the formalities of the deal were completed ahead of Monday’s deadline.

“I’m excited to be here and to start this journey in a new environment,” Blom said. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and building relationships with my new teammates. I will do my best to help the team and see what we can achieve together.

“Stellenbosch is a professional and well-run club, and players who have played here in the past have enjoyed success, so I felt that it was a good environment for me to grow and to play competitive football again.

“I know coach Gavin Hunt demands a lot from his players and that will also help me improve and get back to my best.”

Blom will be hoping to get his career back on track after a difficult few years.

He came through the youth development structures at Chiefs and made his senior debut in the 2019/20 season before moving to St. Louis City SC in Major League Soccer in December 2022.

His move to the United States did not work out as hoped, and he was loaned back to Amakhosi for the 2024/25 season. However, that deal was not made permanent, and he was released by the MLS club in July 2025 to join Vietnamese side Nam Dinh FC.

From there, he moved to Borneo Samarinda in July of this year, but is swiftly on the move again as he looks to revive his career in South Africa.

Stellenbosch have had a mixed start to the new Betway Premiership campaign, with two wins and three draws from their seven games to date. They sit seventh in the 16-team table.
